-:HOW TO WRITE A PRECIS:-
Very important for WBCS,WBPSI,PSC CLERKSHIP and other examinations
Rules for precis writing :-
1)Precis is strictly for administrative purpose.
2)Do not include any idiom or phrase in it.
3)Examples should be skipped as we need not explain things with examples.write only the gist that comes out of those examples without repeating the illustrations.
4)Skip the questions and quotations.
5)Skip the direct speech.
6)Do not express your own ideas.
7)Precis must be written on the fact given in the passage,it does not matter whatever it is right or wrong.
8)The central idea of the passage is most important and hence the precis must be based on it.
9)Must be logically connected.
10)Don't use any tough word to beautify your precis.
11)Give a catchy title without verb.
12)1/3 of the given passage (stick number of the words)
13)Don't use first person,use only 3rd person,in few cases can use "we".
14)Write in your own language, don't copy paste.
15)Must cover all important key words and data given.
16) Avoid unnecessary or extra information.
